![]() Specially recommend them for the adult novels. But I'm a very completist minded person.Īudiobooks are fantastic BTW if you wanna try them, makes it easier/faster to get through the books. But I'm sure you can manage without them, since Phase 2 is answering some of those questions. Felt like they answered more questions than the novels. Phase 1 wave 3 comics are where it's at for me. Truly amazing antagonists, world-building and it just feels really fresh whitin the universe!įor me, to get the full High Republic story and developments the comics are essential, specially the main marvel THR run. It is also the scariest SW has ever been IMO. THR is a pretty unique Star Wars publishing project, because it really doesn't rely on pre-existing characters. But it does start just after Return of the Jedi, so it's sequel territory. Grounded and interesting, real, nuanced characters. Since Andor brought you back, I'd recommend the Alphabet Squadron trilogy. Star wars i hated: tarkin, phasma, anything chuck wendig has even glanced in the same direction of, phasma, leia's two books, anything to do with the sequel trilogy, in shows i disliked boba fett, obiwan, mando 1, and i dont like the cartoons.Īlso i dont and wont be reading the comics how neccessary are they to the high republic? Lost stars, rogue one and all of the related books (battlefront inferno, that jyn erso book, catalyst), the kanan and hera book whose name i forgot, in shows i like andor and mando s2. Star wars stories i like - my ultimate favourites are the thrawn trilogy and douology, KOTOR and xwing. so i reckon i'll just mention the star wars stories/shows i like and dislike and let you guys let me know if you reckon i'd like the high republic from that. been a fan of star wars for decades and kinda noped of the new books out around rise of skywalker because of how bad it had all gotten but saw andor and now i want more. So been getting back into star wars again recently and was looking for more stories. If you ever forget this simply type spoiler help in a comment for a reminder. On-Topic Posts: All content must relate to the Star Wars canon. That said, we're here to offer a complete, comprehensive reading order that can offer readers a guide as they work through "The High Republic," while still allowing for you to pick your battles. We are a discussion-based subreddit on all things related to the current Star Wars canon as established by the Lucasfilm Story Group on April 25, 2014. Thankfully, Lucasfilm structured most of the stories to stand largely on their own so that the reader could pick and choose battles at their leisure without feeling totally lost. Phase 1 of the initiative consisted of more than 20 titles spread across a variety of formats, aimed at different age readers. So much so that it might even be considered a bit overwhelming for those who are looking to explore this initiative coming into it cold. This setting is a time period that, prior to this initiative, had hardly been explored (if at all) within the overall franchise timeline, making for rich storytelling possibilities. There are two sets of different foes that the Jedi must contend with in the form of the Nihil and the Drengir. "The High Republic," generally speaking, takes place roughly 200 years before the events of the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy and sees the Jedi at the height of the powers as the highest law in the land across the galaxy. ![]()
